For one of our Customer, a European Institution we are looking for an Application Architect with at least 9 years of relevant work experience.
Role Responsibility
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
The work should support the following tasks on a regular basis:
1. Maintenance of SeaDAS in its latest version;
2. Installation of tools to handle Sentinel-2/3 imagery;
3. Identification, preparation and documentation of the scripts required to run a batchmode processing of satellite data with appropriate software (relying on SeaDAS modules) with particular attention to ancillary data;
4. Testing and operating this environment with past and current sensors (including Sentinel-3 missions) and managing the D02 ocean color data archive;
5. Exploring the processing of new, high-resolution, satellite data (Landsat-8, Sentinel-2, HICO) for validation applications;
6. Contributing to the assessment, comparison and time analysis of satellite data series through the development of appropriate software;
7. Supporting the use of radiative transfer codes together with new software tools for the development of new/improved satellite products and the estimation of uncertainty distributions;
8. Supporting the definition of an optical classification environment to identify particular marine conditions.
Successful Candidate
Expertise requested in IDL and C programming languages;
• Expertise requested in Shell and Python scripting in a Linux environment;
• Expertise on the management, processing and analysis of satellite or geospatial data files;
• Expertise on existing software dedicated to satellite data processing and analysis (like SeaDAS) appreciated;
• Expertise in R programming language appreciated;
• Capacity for planning and taking initiative in an IT environment applied to scientific endeavours;
• English verbal and written skills requested for reporting and software documentation.
Furthermore, the capability of working in an international/multicultural environment is needed
