Main Responsibilities

As Life cycle data analyst of eco-design and circular economy strategies - OpenLCA, Simapro, Gabi you will be responsible for:

The IT tasks to be carried out include:

  • Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices in a specific area of ICT infrastructure technology (e.g. database management systems, web content management, business process management and rule execution engines, application life cycle management, etc.)
  • Assistance in the implementation of a software engineering methodology, concerning; LCA-based software and tools (including development and testing of dedicated tools);
  • Provision of quality plans, quality assessments, quality control tests (especially concerning available LCA datasets)
  • Elaboration of functional and non-functional requirements and business case analysis related to the area of expertise
  • Provision of technical evaluations and audit reports in relation with information systems infrastructure

Non-IT Tasks include:

  • Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, very good communication skills
  • Capability of working in an international/multicultural environment

Successful Candidate

General expertise

  • Expertise in collecting data for, and modelling of, life cycle and circular economy aspects of chemicals, materials and products.
  • Proved capability to write clear and structured technical documents and presentations in English (including relevant publications).
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings and of working in team in an international/multicultural environment.

Specific expertise
Specific expertise required:

  • High proficiency in the modelling of LCA and use of most common software and tools for LCA (experience in the use of several software, as Simapro, Gabi and  OpenLCA represents an added value);
  • Experience in developing LCA datasets and models for key materials, technologies and products (as for chemicals, different energy related products, packaging, etc.) based on on-field and online/database data collection;
  • Proficiency in the use of LCA databases and development of new LCA datasets (in line with EU recommendations for EF datasets);
  • Solid expertise in the modelling of circular economy aspects of complex products;
  • Excellent and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package (especially excel);
