For our client, European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), we are looking for a Ground Segment Engineer in Toulouse, France.  The activities below will include frequent access to EUSPA classified security areas and systems and will require the candidate to have a Security Clearance. Meetings to other EUSPA premises in Europe is foreseen.  

Main Responsibilities

As Ground Segment Engineer you will concentrate your activities on the following:​

Support to design and development of Ground segment evolutions:

  • Contributions to the procurement and follow up of EUSA’ developments (specification , evaluations of proposed plans and compliances);
  • Contribution to the design documentation (e.g. DDF, and or functional chains);
  • Participate to the ground segment evolutions development reviews and CCB relevant to the tasks under her/his responsibility;

Ground Segment sites hosting infrastructure development contracts procurement and management:

  • Provide technical specifications for ground equipment and facilities procurement (including flow down of upper level requirements;
  • Review of the technical documentation for the ground segment level activities and ensure traceability of specifications to upper level requirements;
  • Manage requirements in DOORS and provide requirements justifications files
  • Interface with industrial and/or institutional player and service operator for aspects related to operability improvements to be injected in future industrial contract amendments;
  • Analyse CR/CCN relevant to ground segment and support CCBs;

Ground segment sites hosting infrastructure development reviews and acceptance:

  • Support the qualification/acceptance reviews of new releases of the Ground Segment up to services roll-out;
  • Managed RIDS;

Definition and monitoring of onsite-ground segment equipment deployment:

  • Support the assessment of the performance of the ground infrastructure industrial contractors, through the review of the relevant KPIs and deliverables;
  • Provide input/reports on deployment status , reviews and critical issue analysis;

Definition and monitoring of onsite ground segment level1 maintenance:

  • Provide System in Operations Observation Reports analyses;
  • Provide support to configurations or maintenance upgrades deployment status, critical issues analyses;
  • Contribution to Service incidents reports;
  • Technical follow-up of service provision contract including maintenance aspects and anomalies management;
  • Provide Technical notes/memo’s on anomalies/observations including identification of impacted requirements applicable to the contract;
  • Provide NRB/ARB/ORB MoM’s;
  • Coordination with system evolutions activities, safety and security;

Successful Candidate

Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:

  • Master degree in Space Engineering;

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • From 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in ground segment design and development in the space industry;
  • Experience in GNSS in particular on Galileo and EGNOS is a strong asset;
  • Experience with COMSEC items and PRS information is a strong asset;
  • Experience with DOORS is a Plus;
  • Availability to go on missions;

ADITIONAL NOTES

  • Comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment;
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset;
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU;
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain a EU Security Clearance;
