On behalf of our client in the United Arab Emirates, we are looking for a skilled Geospatial Lead  to join our organisation in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. This remarkable role offers a unique opportunity to work on several exciting projects in the region.

To effectively provide geospatial leadership including strategic and operational planning, policy
and standards development, project management, and implementation. Also exists to provide
effective decision-making information to the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate an effective, efficient and robust geospatial service to internal and external clients and deliver specialist geospatial advice and information across the team.
  • Accountable for robust geospatial data capture, collection and management (SAR, optical, and other datasets).
  • Analysis of data is traceable and presented using appropriate visualisation techniques and tools.
  • Demonstrate, promote and contribute to spatial industry best practice.
  • Oversee the design, schedule, budget and implementation to GIS systems and software applications, including database design and Serco Business administration.
  • Accountable for quality technical documentation on geospatial systems and applications.
  • Ensure a high level of technical geospatial advice and input is provided into other internal and external project teams.
  • Ensure the analysis and user requirements for tasks and project requiring geospatial is fit for purpose.
  • Plan and propose solution services related to the utilization of SAR satellite images based on industry and customer needs.
  • Responsible for the production of data, maps and reports for internal and external clients that meet customer needs whilst meeting internal performance measures.

Successful Candidate

Experience:

  • At least 7 years’ experience in handling Geospatial data repositories of Infrastructure Assets, QA, and QC activities using software tools such as MS-Excel, ArcGIS etc.
  • 3 years project management experience.

Skills:

  • Specialist GIS and cartography experience and the ability to be able to apply this knowledge to enhance quality and results.
  • Experience in designing and delivering geospatial solutions, following agreed standards and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of geospatial concepts.
  • Knowledge of corporate GIS architecture and enterprise GIS systems.
  • Understanding of data management principles to ensure best use of organization and visualization mapping services.
  • Experience of using cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in image processing and image recognition using Python, C++, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or Java is desirable.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree in Engineering / GIS / Computer Science / Geography / Remote Sensing.
