GIS Systems Architect with excellent knowledge of ArcGIS (0782-3)

For one of our Customer, a European Institution we are looking for Technology Expert with​ at least 9 years of relevant work experience. 

Role Responsibility

The key person will be responsible for:

• Further development of the EDO and GDO web mapping services
• Drought database development, implementation, and integration
• Linking of EDO and GDO with the Integrated Risk Assessment and GDACS+
• Providing support to the development of ADO and SCADO
• Contribution to the yearly progress reports on the development of EDO and GDO as well as the analytical reports in case of ongoing droughts

Requirements

Knowledge and skills

Experience to work with spatial datasets and formats (e.g., shapefiles, grid formats, Oracle Spatial, GeoJSON, netcdf). The person should have experience on PC platform as well as knowledge of Linux OS.

The person is required to have knowledge and experience with

• HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX
• XML, XSL
• PHP, Phyton
• Web-design and cross-browser techniques
• General database design (conceptual model, physical model)

The consultant should have very good understanding of geographic information and analytical skills.

The consultant should have thematic experience in processing, analysing and web-based publication of drought-relevant data and information, including a good understanding of drought-related concepts.

Preferable skills:

The person should have experience with

• database development and implementation with regard to web applications (e.g. Postgres, PL/SQL, Oracle, PostGIS)
• jQuery (+Flot), ExtJs, OpenLayers, GeoExt
• Mapserver and PHP MapScript (with experience to set up custom metadata in MapServer mapfile to be used in PHP functions), WMS, WCS, WFS, XML-based GML.
• time-based and multi-parameter OWS layers.
• bash-script

Specific expertise

• Very good knowledge of GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server) is required.

General skills

• Good knowledge of English.
• Capacity to write clear and structured technical documents
• Capacity to work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary, multi-national and multi-lingual environment.
