We are hiring an Full-Stack Developer (FSD) for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

As Full-Stack Developer (FSD) you will be responsible for:

• Development of front-end website architecture.
• Design of user interactions on web pages.
• Development of back-end website applications.
• Implement core business logic.
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
• Maintenance of code integrity and organisation.
• Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end.
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.
• Meet both technical and consumer needs.
• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users if needed

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Good knowledge of applications design.
• Experience working in agile environments.
• Analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills.
• Experience working in Linux environment

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects.
• Excellent Team Player.
• English will be the main working language, so a level B2 is advised on understanding, speaking and writing.
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG ECHO E.5 contain personal and confidential data.
• Experience and/or knowledge of the functioning of the European Union humanitarian aid would be clearly an asset.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:

• Proficiency in full-stack development of web applications - minimum 5 years professional experience.
• Proficiency in Java Platform Enterprise Edition - minimum 5 years professional experience.
• Proficiency experience in Oracle database - minimum 5 years professional experience.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as JavaScript, HTML and CSS - minimum 5 years professional experience.
• Excellent knowledge of front-end technologies: Angular, Bootstrap.
• Excellent knowledge of back-end technologies: Node.js and Spring Boot.
• Excellent knowledge of REST and SOAP web services.
• Excellent knowledge of integrated development environment: IntelliJ and Visual Studio.
• Excellent knowledge of Bitbucket and Git code repositories.
• Very good knowledge of JIRA management software.
• Very good knowledge of SQL*Plus database utility.
• Good knowledge of Bamboo delivery pipeline.
• Good knowledge of WebLogic Server.
• Good knowledge of microservices.
• Good knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
• Knowledge of testing technologies, tools and techniques.
