We are hiring an Expert in Secure Development for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

As Expert in Secure Development you will be responsible for:

  • Technical and business analysis, development and maintenance of Information Systems
  • Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

  • Master degree of 5 years.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

In addition to the skills specified in the DIGIT-TM II Service Requirements document, the following knowledge and skills are applicable to the external service provider:

  • Technical and business leadership using agile scrum methodologies
  • Very good knowledge and practice of service oriented, REST web services, architecture
  • Very good knowledge and practice of Confluence, JIRA, SMT, Outlook
  • Very good knowledge and practice of agile scrum management
  • Very good ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture, design, and development
  • Very good analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Very good ability to solve problems efficiently and fast
  • Very good capability to write clear and structured technical and functional documents
  • Good knowledge of the standard technology stack and building blocks of the Commission
  • Good knowledge of the Commission IT procedures
  • Good knowledge of the Commission’s administrative procedure
  • Good ability to give technical and business presentations
  • Good ability to apply high quality standards
  • Good ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills in English and French
  • Excellent ease of communication in English and French (both verbal and written).

Due to the nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
  • Excellent Team Player;
  • Ability to understand, speak and write English C1 and French B2; additional EU languages will be considered important assets.
  • High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG FISMA Unit 01 contain personal and confidential data.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE EXPECTED

  • Expertise in Commission’s standard DevSecOps technology like Jenkins will be considered an important asset.
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise with front-end development using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS;
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise with middle-end development using languages and frameworks Java/Spring boot;
  • At least 5 years of specific expertise in back-end data-base development using Oracle and PL/SQL
