Europe – QHSE Advisor

We are hiring a Europe – QHSE Advisor for our partner ORS. The location is flexible with travel requirements in Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

Role Responsibility

As Europe – QHSE Advisor you will concentrate your activities on the following:

The QHSE Advisor cooperates within the Safety, Risk & Compliance Team for the development and the maintenance of the Quality Management, Health and Safety and Environmental Systems. He/she is also involved in systems audits in order to analyse, verify and confirm conformance and effectiveness of the systems. He/she performs on-site visits and reports on any deviances from local regulations and contract compliance.

He/she will report directly to the Serco Europe Director of Safety, Risk and Compliance.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • To put in place all the legal provisions in terms of prevention and protection at work ensuring that all HSE aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and our Codes of Conduct and any applicable ISO system (9001, 45001 and 14001) in order to guarantee Serco employees a working environment in line with the legislation and areas relating to H&S and well-being at work
  • To work with SRC department to ensure the compliant of the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Management Systems to the ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001  
  • To manage active achievement of Quality Management Plan/HSE Plan and KPI targets
  • To guide and support the operation process in order to maintain and continually improve the safety culture and performance
  • To develop and lead the operation and promotion of an integrated management system, encompassing a pro-active environmental, health and safety culture across the region.
  • To managing client relationships and expectations relevant to the job role. Maintain formal and informal communications with clients, sub-contractors and customers.

Successful Candidate

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications: 

  • Fluent English – mandatory
  • Fluent German - mandatory
  • Additional French and/or Italian – nice to have
  • Good knowledge of current informatics systems (Windows, Office Package, Lotus Notes, Visio, Adobe)
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System principles (ISO 9001)
  • knowledge of H&S Systems, including relevant Country Legislations (ISO 45001)
  • Knowledge of Environmental Systems (ISO 14001) 
  • Flexible and cooperative 
  • Good, communication skills 
  • Diplomatic, wise, honest, acting in conformance with privacy law 

Additional / Special features of the role: 

  • For the importance of the information treated in this role, especially those relating to Company Organisation, Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems, it is strongly forbidden to spread out any information/document/record without formal authorisation given by the SE SRC Director.
  • The responsibility in case of unauthorised spread out of any information/document/record considered confidential will be personal.

Note* 

  • Must have driving license as frequent travel to ORS sites is essential – covering all German and Swiss locations – hence flexi location.
