We are currently searching for an experienced and dynamic End2End Technical Coordinator to join our international team in Frascati, Rome.  End-to-end technical coordinator refers to the comprehensive oversight and control of the Payload Data Ground Segment (PDGS) of ESA Earth Explorers missions. The role requires a deep understanding of the Core PDGS. He /she will be the reference point for the Service Team, ESA and external interfaces. The E2E Technical Coordinator will have the important role of supervising key activities, which include the analysis of end-to-end performance and the corresponding impact on all services within the PDGS. Will strictly Collaborate with the PDGS Ground Segment Manager, assuming responsibility for the incident management process. Will Oversee the Change management process and will organize and participate in meetings with Service Team, ESA and Industries reporting the status of the PDGS and eventually incidents and problems resolution.

Main Responsibilities

As a End2End Technical Coordinator you will concentrate your activities on the following:

  • Day per day supervision of the correct functioning of the processing chain.
  • Coordination and monitoring of the PDGS incidents, problems, maintenance and evolution
  • Oversee the PDGS end-to-end performances.
  • Assessment and mitigation of potential impact on other service functions
  • Responsibility of the incident management process, ensuring that incidents are addressed and resolved in line with the agreed SLAs. 
  • Oversee the Change management process.
  • Organize and participate in regular meetings with ESA and Industries reporting:
  • Issues encountered during the period with a specific lesson learnt.
  • Performance results achieved during the current period and improved way forward if applicable.
  • Changes and evolutions scheduled with impact on PDGS components.
  • Provide technical support for the assessment potential evolutions of the Ground Segment.

As part of the Service Setup : 

  • Shall coordinate End-to-End PDGS processes, documents and tools.
  • Coordinate and validate Transfer to operations.
  • Collaborate with the relevant validation service(s) and operational teams/services to prepare, plan and execute the Transfer to Operations for all PDGS elements and processor upgrades.

Successful Candidate

The following skills and experience are mandatory: 

  • University degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and team management.
  • Excellent knowledge of data processing chain preferably related to the Earth Observation Ground Segments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and share/acquire knowledge.
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Knowledge of Earth Observation missions and their operational context.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in drafting and editing complex technical reports.
  • Experience in Documentation Review.
