Job Introduction

Serco, a trusted provider of services to National Space Agencies and the European Space Agency (ESA) for over 40 years, is seeking an Earth Observation Product Owner - Image Processing to join our service team in Toulouse. In this role, you'll serve CNES as an account, collaborating closely with them to support their space missions. Founded in 1961, the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) is the government agency responsible for shaping and implementing France’s space policy in Europe. CNES plays a crucial role in advancing space exploration, research, and technology development.

Main Responsibilities

Serco is actively seeking an Earth Observation Product Owner - Image Processing to join our esteemed team at Toulouse. As an Earth Observation Product Owner - Image Processing, you will play a crucial role in our mission, collaborating closely with CNES to support their space missions. Your expertise in image processing and dedication to advancing Earth observation capabilities will directly contribute to the success of CNES endeavours, shaping the future of space exploration and technology advancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the objectives of the image processing chains (from L1A to L2A levels) especially geometric corrections.
  • Write the specifications of the processing chains.
  • Develop and validate image processing chains.
  • Prototype on Linux machines using Jupyter Notebook/Python and Bash.
  • Define system products (netCDF).
  • Define an architecture for the image processing chains.
  • Define necessary inputs/outputs and temporary data to check the processing chains.
  • Deploy the processing chain into IT environments involving accessing data.

Successful Candidate

Profile:

  • Degree in Engineering or comparable relevant education.
  • Over 5 years of experience in processing satellite images, with a focus on geometric corrections.
  • Experience in earth observation projects.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Bash, Python, and Jupyter Notebook.
  • Experience using JIRA/Confluence tools.
  • Fluent in French.
  • Mandatory verbal and written communication skills in English language.
  • Further experience in ground segment and expertise center projects is an advantage.
  • EU citizenship is necessary.
