Role Responsibility

The Junior Software Developer is used to maintain and further evolve data systems in a dynamic environment.
The role includes the following main areas:
• Software Development for new requirements
• Data presentation and interaction.
• Data Operation / Evolution support
• Data Content Management
Software development for new requirements
• Define and implement  interfaces to collect data from related systems to allow federation of information
• Define, Develop and test ETL tool (including test case creation)
• Document all developed software
Data Presentation and Interaction
• Design of reporting platform based on Business Intelligence technologies and tools
• Implementation of new requirements
• Integration of new data sources
• Design of new queries
• Creation of test cases
• Support Verification and Validation team
• Maintenance of existing presentation layer
• Interaction and training of customer and users
Data Operation / Evolution support and Data Content Management
Assure that the Operational Service is in line with service requirement
• Managing access and updating of Data Information System
• Ensuring the accuracy of the data
• Ensuring the relevant data is collected and available for the Business Intelligence requirements
• Maintain and evolve data aggregation model
• Anomaly handling.
• Provide support to find out and correct data inconsistency between several source of data
• Metadata investigation in order to align the data between external source
• Collecting, recording, organising, maintaining operational information relevant to the asset with all relevant documentation

Successful Candidate

The Software Developer should have relevant experience in the following fields:
• Software Development
• Relational database management systems
• Business Intelligence and data presentation tools and technics
• Creation and maintenance of Technical documentation
Is Experienced in:
• Java Programming
• Open Search Technology
• Troubleshoot and upgrade of existing software
• Business Intelligence procedures
• Knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL

Any Knowledge in the following would be of great value:
• Tableau or similar BI tools
• Web Services
• Python
• Postgres RDBMS
• XML/XSD
• EO data products
• Linux O.S. and native shell scripting
• Machine Learning
Additional skills:
• Good communications skills in English (spoken, written) and possibly good knowledge of Italian
• Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
• Take full responsibility for the successful conclusion of the activities and success-oriented
• Very good customer liaison capability and team-player spirit
• Sharp and curious mind
• Availability to travel within Europe to attend meetings
