DBA Oracle/MySQL with strong Linux expertise

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a DBA Oracle/MySQL with strong Linux expertise based in Brussels.

Role Responsibility

This expert will participate in the following task:

  • Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices within the ICT application and database area.
  • Provision of technical evaluations reports in relation with information database systems and monitoring of databases at all levels
  • Oversee the administration of the all database services of the ICT environments for our client, and their integration with specific applications.
  • Continuing improvement and optimisation of requests coming from applications towards the database systems.
  • Advising and helping developers in best practices on how applications should interface and query databases.
  • Provision of security studies, security assessments and other specific security matters related to ICT applications.
  • Risk analysis in the database area.

Successful Candidate

The key person shall have the following expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of the Linux architecture with focus on Linux as an application server. Mainly for Oracle and Documentum.
  • Deep knowledge of database systems, and the use of them on virtual and physical systems.
  • Deep knowledge of performance monitoring techniques and analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning Oracle and SQL/Server Database environments.
  • Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication.

Education and Experience:

Master level or 5 years of higher education. Minimum 11 years of IT professional experience. Specific knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL and Documentum is needed.

The consultant is required to sign the Security Procedure before the signature of his/her specific contract and have it submitted to OLAF. The presence of the signed Security Procedure per specific contract is mandatory.
