The “Copernicus Account Manager” is part of an industry consortium, which provides engineering and EO application domain support to ESA.

You will have the opportunity to support ESA in the Copernicus Space Component Coordinated Data Access System (CSCDA) project during the implementation cycle and operational deployment of the follow-up project PRISM (Copernicus contributing missions access support functions and platform), responding to Copernicus Service Projects’ (CSP) evolving needs.

Role Responsibility

As Copernicus Account Manager you will be responsible for:

  • CSP Progress Review organization and lead
  • Recording, Tracking, analysis of User Needs and their mapping in Data Warehouse Requirements (DWH).
  • End to End Management of CSCDA Datasets (DAP updates, status, level of implementation, daily monitoring of orders, escalations, closure)
  • Quota Management
  • User Survey Process Management
  • Participation to CSP events and meetings
  • Assessment of service improvements
  • Copernicus Contributing Mission Entities (CCME) monthly report reconciliation and validation
  • Support Long term evolution of DWH
  • CSCDA Evolution support (including requirements definition support (ITTs and CCNs) and Operations Scenarios definition)
  • Preparation of news about CSP activities
  • Interfacing with Copernicus Service Providers and Entrusted Entities on data and service needs
  • Interfacing with PRISM Developers and Operations for supervision of data and service provision to Copernicus Services
  • Specifying Datasets and data offer
  • Monitoring and reporting about on-line promotional and outreach events of Copernicus Services and EO data industry
  • Contribute to the development and specification of new operational scenarios
  • Supervision of pilots testing new operational scenarios
  • Reviewing tool and infrastructure developments in terms of user expectations
  • Monitor and control the data budget of Copernicus Services
  • Analysis of data provision performance and volume statistics
  • Operations for addressing operational issues and discussing service improvements
  • Assess and propose service improvements in terms of dataset content, access mechanism and timeliness
  • Foster service uptake by end users
  • Supervising rush operations
  • Reviewing and contributing to Statements of Work for data procurement
  • Reviewing and contributing to Change Requests for infrastructure and tool developers

Successful Candidate

Skills and Experience

The following experience is mandatory:

  • You have a degree in a relevant technical field such as Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Geography, Geosciences.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a directly relevant Space EO industrial or research environment.
  • Knowledge of ESA EO missions (e.g. Sentinels) and their operational context
  • Knowledge of EO based science application
  • Awareness of Copernicus environment stakeholder and CCME
  • Knowledge of GIS and related tools
  • Drafting and editing complex technical reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office Tools

  • Knowledge of the REACT service
  • Good knowledge of Earth Science research community
  • Project Management expertise
  • System Engineering
  • Job experience in International context
  • Knowledge of EO Data Processing
  • Knowledge of OGC and INSPIRE regulations
