Configuration/Deployment Manager (2555, L3)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration/Deployment Manager, based in Brussels.

Role Responsibility

NATURE OF TASKS

  • Software configuration management
  • Build and continuous integration
  • Establishment/maintenance of procedures related to deployment of information systems
  • Management of development infrastructure (e.g. application servers)
  • Release management and controls
  • Analysis of IS performances
  • Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
  • Production of release, configuration and deployment architecture documents
  • Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
  • Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation,
  • deployment, evaluation and reporting in the context of release management
  • Depending on the circumstances, the expert may be requested to provide assistance or support in the resolution of production issues.

Successful Candidate

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Excellent knowledge of software deployment management
  • Good knowledge of software release management
  • Knowledge of RUP and/or AGILE methodologies
  • Knowledge of application servers
  • Knowledge of building and deployment tools (e.g. Ant)
  • Knowledge of development tools
  • Knowledge of RDBMS
  • In depth knowledge of information systems build, deployment and configuration in various technologies (Java, Java EE, PowerBuilder, ColdFusion …);
  • Basic understanding and development skills of scripting, e.g. Java, Java EE and Maven;
  • Proven experience of application lifecycle management tools (RTC, RQM and RRC or equivalent);
  • Good knowledge of the architecture, design and development of web and multitiers Internet applications;
  • Ability to apply high quality standards
  • Good reporting and writing methods;
  • Be a good communicator, with good inter-personal skills;
  • Capacity in writing and process documentation and to give presentations to
  • various teams;
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills;
  • Fluency (written and oral) in English and ability to follow conversation, meetings and read documents in French.
  • Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education
  • Minimum 9 years of professional experience
