Configuration/Deployment Manager (12219, L5)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration/Deployment Manager, based in Brussels.

 

Role Responsibility

The key person will be responsible for:

  • Deploy new releases, executing all the necessary steps (e.g. WebLogic and Tomcat deployment, database updates and backups) including deployment automation 

  • Troubleshoot the technical issues in all our environments (including production priority one issues) 

  • Producing and reviewing technical documentation 

  • Performing monitoring tasks (reactive and proactive) 

  • Interfacing with the hosting provider; provisioning; following-up migrations 

  • Participating in technical working groups, progress meetings, and other project meetings, including with member states technical representatives 

  • Contribute to the continual improvement of operational processes 

  • Contribute to the improvement of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools

Successful Candidate

The key person should have:

  • Proven experience in application monitoring, reporting and other aspects around operations of deployed systems 

  • Knowledge in the management of application servers, in particular WebLogic and Tomcat. Practical experience in the configuration and performance improvements in a clustered environment is an advantage 

  • Knowledge of the essentials of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus) 

  • Practical experience in integrating Relational Database Management Systems, in particular Oracle SQL, with application servers 

  • Proven experience in using continuous integration tools (e.g. Maven, Bamboo, Jenkins, Git, GitLab-CI, Ansible, Groovy...) 

  • Good technical drafting skills 

  • Ability to cope with fast changing technologies 

  • Ability of integrating in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, experience in team working and good communication skills 

  • Coordination of various stakeholders, ability to work autonomously 

  • Good knowledge of English 

  • Good knowledge of information systems life cycle management 

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo and other Atlassian tools 

  • Experience with Java EE technologies 

  • Experience in writing automation scripts (e.g. Bash and Shell scripts, PowerShell...) 

  • Experience with Linux and Windows system administration 

  • Familiarity with Commission methodologies and supporting tools such as PM2, BPM@EC and Agile@EC 

  • Ability to combine several tasks 

  • Pro-activity
