Job Introduction

Subject to a new contract win – Serco are recruiting a small team of professionals to provide soft and hard FM services to a large international organisation in Geneva.

Serco have proven experience in delivering Facility Management services to Government institutions throughout Europe, in this instance we seek to provide an effective FM solution that not only delivers the highest standard of service from the first day, but is also objectively monitored, measured and continuously improved throughout the long duration of the contract.

The HQ in Geneva is c30,000 m2 and home to 800 staff, Key services within this contract include - FM Management, Caretaking and building management, Service Support, cleaning and Mail room support.

Role Responsibility

  • Perform maintenance tasks
  • Perform office moves
  • Provide support for requests requested by the Help Desk and the Lead Caretaker
  • Update and track requests and queries using TOPdesk
  • Carry out preventative maintenance according to the planning and maintenance ranges of the technical equipment. (Electricity, locksmith, carpentry, etc.)
  • Prepare furniture for events under instruction 
  • Installation of office partitions as requested
  • Installation of banners on the building as requested
  • Remove and/or handle equipment, as appropriate
  • Assist with the distribution of paper for photocopiers and printers
  • Support staff in the warehouse as requested by Lead Caretaker
  • Investigate claims of pest infestations

Additional Responsibilities

  • According to the service requirements, ensure replacements for the logistics service are managed appropriately
  • Assistance to the Mail Room as required
  • Where required, chaperone subcontractors 
  • Process receipts and deliveries of goods to final recipients in accordance with established procedures and with systematic registration
  • Where appropriate, give advice and assistance to employees
  • Manage inventory tracking and permanent supply of paper stocks (reprographic paper, envelope templates, letterhead paper, letter suite, white paper (A4 / A3), etc.), in the support spaces of the floors
  • Handle goods and furniture, using the forklift where necessary
  • Provide administrative management of all documents related to logistics
  • Manage storage space
  • Oversee stock management

Successful Candidate

Skills Know

  • Qualification and/or experience of small maintenance in multi-technique and versatile Facilities Management (electricity, locksmithing, carpentry, logistics
  • Good sense of the relationship between Serco and the client
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude in all circumstances
  • Forklift driver trained

Know How To Do

  • Collect, process and transmit information, orally and in writing
  • Able to communicate easily and diplomatically with the client's employees
  • Organize, respond to requests and adapt to different situations
  • Comprehend and respect written or verbal work instructions
  • Display sense of duty and communication,
  • Display versatility

Know How to Be

  • Respect the safety rules,
  • Alert the management as soon as a problem arises
  • Enhance Serco's image with the customer's employees
  • Respect the confidentiality rules of Serco and those of the customer
  • Good presentation (workwear provided by Serco)
  • Adapt to any change of policy and/or organization
