Job Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic C++ Developer to join our team in Maastricht Office.
Main Responsibilities
Mandatory:
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience as software developer.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in designing and developing large scale software applications (>100 kSLOC), implementing complex, high-performance algorithms, preferably in a Linux environment.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience using C++, knowledge of recent C++ standards and techniques, experience in developing and maintaining software and documentation in accordance with recognized industrial quality and safety standards (SWAL 3 or equivalent).
- Minimum two (2) experiences demonstrating the candidate’s ability to work as a team player, to recognize differences and complementarity among colleagues, to provide constructive feedback and to help others grow.
Desirable:
- One (1) year experience with AGILE working methods and the ATLASSIAN tool suite (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence) would be an asset.
- One (1) year experience with test frameworks (ROBOT framework) and test automation would be an asset.
- Demonstration of understanding of Air Traffic Management systems would be an asset.

Successful Candidate
Background:
One of the flagship Projects at Eurocontrol MUAC is currently the ARGOS Project. ARGOS will first introduce a partial automation of the ATCO tasks when the correct operational conditions are met. ARGOS provides air traffic controllers with advanced features such as aircraft conflict detection and resolution (NTCA, LORD), and automation such as executing trajectories & procedures as approved in advance.
For the implementation of ARGOS functionality in the ARGOS Server, additional three (3) full time C++ Programmers are required to augment the current SDP Team’s capacity, and work for the ARGOS Project under the supervision of the current staff.
The ARGOS programmers will perform the following non-exhaustive tasks:
- Analyse requirements in close collaboration with the operational experts, evaluate, identify and design innovative software solutions to satisfy business needs.
- Design and implement complex software changes, including prototyping, documentation, unit testing, product level test automation and delivery in compliance with aerospace-grade quality and safety management standards.
- Analyse technical and operational problem reports, determine the diagnostics and fix for the problems, including modification of existing source code.
- Critically review source code, documentation, test suite changes and test results performed by other developers.
- Produce complex technical papers and software lifecycle documents and contribute to safety and security assessments.
- Manage software development work packages, including effort estimation, planning and implementation.
DESIRED PROFILE
Eurocontrol is aiming to implement time-based support for three (3) full-time C++ Programmers for ARGOS project to assist internal staff.
Educational requirements
Mandatory:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology, with a focus on Software Engineering, and with keen interest (e.g. thesis, electives) in algorithms, mathematics, SW development or other innovative programming. Candidates with Master’s degree in the same field, will be granted additional scoring points in the TEP.

- The Tenderer shall confirm that the proposed candidate has an excellent command of the English language (Listening/Writing/Understanding) level- C1/B2/B2 (the English skill levels may be further evaluated during an interview).
