We are hiring a  Application/Cloud Architect (ACA) for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Main Responsibilities

As Application/Cloud Architect (ACA) you will be responsible for:

• Analysis of the integration of different information systems.
• Data analysis and data modelling.
• Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture.
• Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers.
• Production of software architecture documents.
• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.
• Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, development, deployment, evaluation and reporting.
• Creating designs and blueprints of Cloud Architecture.
•  Review of the architecture of existing systems to migrate of existing system in the cloud.
• Design and development of architecture components and building blocks using cloud components.

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

• bachelor’s degree of 3 years

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Good knowledge of architecture best practices and patterns.
•  Good knowledge of microservices and architecture in the cloud.
• Good knowledge of applications design.
• Good knowledge of modelling tools.
• Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture.
• Good knowledge of Relational DBMS.
• Good knowledge of business process analysis.
•  Knowledge of interoperability technology (web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus, event architecture).
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good redaction skills.
• Ability to give technical presentations.
• Ability to apply high quality standards.

Due to the nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

•  Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
•  Ability to participate in multilingual meetings, ease of communication.
•  Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects.
• Excellent Team Player.
•  Ability to understand, speak and write English (C1/C2). French will be an advantage.
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG GROW B3 contain personal and confidential data.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in architecture and design of information systems
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Java (both with J2SE and J2EE) with extensive use of design patterns
• Minimum 5 years' experience in developing secure web applications
•  Minimum 5 years' experience in Object Oriented design patterns, e.g. Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP)
• Minimum 8 years' experience in relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
• Minimum 8 years’ experience with SQL language
• Minimum 5 years' experience with XML
• Minimum 6 years' experience with Spring framework
• Minimum 5 years' experience with Angular2 framework or similar
• Minimum 5 years' experience in development of web services
• Minimum 3 years' experience with JIRA and GIT
