We are hiring an Application / Cloud architect (ACA) - 5140 for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Main Responsibilities

As an Application / Cloud architect (ACA) you will be responsible for:

• Analysis of the integration of different information systems
• Data analysis and data modelling.
• Development of software for both back-end and front-end solutions
• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.
• Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting
• Creating designs and blueprints of System Architecture.

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

• Bachelor's level or 3 years of higher education 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Proven experience with back-end development, in particular with the following technologies or equivalent:
  • Java,
  • Spring,
  • Hibernate,
  • Oracle / SQL
• Proven experience with front-end development, in particular with the following technologies or equivalent:
  • Angular
  • TypeScript
• Good knowledge of software development methodologies
• Good knowledge of architecture best practices and patterns.
• Good knowledge of applications design.
• Good knowledge of Relational DBMS.
• Good knowledge of business process analysis.
• Ability to apply high quality standards
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in DG TRADE.R4
• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Analysis and problem-solving skills
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience of working in a team;
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
• Excellent Team Player
• Ability to understand, speak and write in English (B1/B2). French B1 will be an advantage;
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG TRADE.R4 contain personal and confidential data
