We are hiring an Application Architect Java knowledge and programming experience with Spring Boot 2 for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

Tasks
o Design and development of web-based applications
o Elaboration of functional and non-functional requirements, drafting of analysis deliverables,
UML modelling
o Design, implementation, testing and maintenance of software components for web-based
applications
o Migration and updates of web applications
o Design and development of architecture components and building blocks
o Review of the architecture of existing systems
o Architecture and design of information systems
o Participate to requirements analysis, prototyping, definition and integration of technological
components
o Production of software architecture documents
o Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users

o Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, architectural considerations,
applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices with Java Enterprise & front-end
technologies, enterprise & web content management, XML, interoperability, multi-device
development etc.

PROFILE DETAILS

Profile and level
The required profile is that of an “Application Architect Level 5” as specified under DIGIT TM / Lot 1.

Education and technical expertise
o 10+ years expertise working in back-end web development
o Capability to write clear and structured technical documents;
o Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills;
o Exceptional problem solving and ability to work independently
o Exceptional learning skills
o Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment.

Specific expertise
o Excellent Java knowledge and programming experience with Spring Boot 2
o Java EE7 or higher and J2EE architectures;
o Java frameworks: Spring 4.x, Spring Integration, Spring data 1.13.x, Spring Security; HT.6003
o Experience with AOP
o Experience building RESTful Web Services
o Experience with JPA / Hibernate / Spring Data
o Experience with JMS
o Experience with Oracle Relational Databases
o TDD/BDD experience
o Experience with server-side architecture and design patterns
o Awareness of server-side performance considerations / multi-threading
o Solid understanding and extensive experience with Git version control tool

Desirable expertise
o Experience working with Docker
o Experience developing REST APIs
o Experience with level 2 Hibernate caching
o Experience with Distributed Caching in Spring Boot (e.g Hazelcast)
o UML modelling

Languages
Working language is English. A very good command of the English language is mandatory.
