We are hiring an Application Architect for Architectural design and development of web applications for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Role Responsibility

Nature of tasks
 Architecture and design of information systems.
 Review of the architecture of existing systems
 Design and development of architecture components and building blocks
 Analysis of the integration of different information systems
 Data analysis and data modelling
 Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
 Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
 Production of software architecture documents
 Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
 Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation,
deployment, evaluation and reporting

Successful Candidate

Knowledge and skills
 Very good knowledge of web application design
 Very good knowledge of Object Oriented architecture
 Very good knowledge of Relational DBMS
 Very good knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus)
 Very good knowledge of security best practices in web development
 Good knowledge of modelling tools
 Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
 Good knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
 Good knowledge of business process analysis
 Good redaction skills.
 Ability to give technical presentations.
 Ability to apply high quality standards
 Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design
 Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
 Proven ability to integrate in an international/multicultural environment

Master’s level or 5 years of higher education or an equivalent number of years of IT professional experience as stated in the DIGIT-TM – Service Requirements.

 Minimum 11 years of IT professional experience
 Minimum 11 years’ experience in development of information systems with Java
 Minimum 11 years' experience with UML or CASE tools
 Very good experience with relational databases
 Very good experience with web application development Specific expertise
 Minimum 11 years' experience in architecture and design of information systems
 Minimum 11 years' experience in Java (both with Java SE and Java EE) with extensive use of design patterns;
 Minimum 11 years' experience in developing secure web applications;
 Minimum 4 years' experience in Apache Maven, Nexus and Jenkins;
 Minimum 11 years' experience in Object Oriented design patterns e.g. AspectOriented Programming (AOP);
 Minimum 11 years' experience in TDD and Testing Frameworks (JUnit, SonarQube, DbUnit, Spock, Mockito…);
 Minimum 10 years' experience in relational databases (Oracle, MySQL…)
 Minimum 10 years' experience with PL/SQL language;
 Minimum 2 years' experience in the development of graphical user interfaces;
 Minimum 6 years' experience in the Spring Web model-view-controller (MVC) framework;
 Minimum 6 years' experience with Spring framework ;
 Minimum 1 year experience in ZK framework;
 Minimum 2 years experience with Apache POI HSSF/XSSF library;
 Minimum 4 years' experience with JPA;
 Miminum 4 years experience with ORM and caching technologies (Hibernate, Coherence…)
 Minimum 10 years HTML, CSS, JavaScript;
 Minimum 1 year experience with Kendo UI
 Minimum 1 year experience in Angular2, Typescript, Angular CLI, Prime NG, Bootstrap, Node.js, NPM, HTML5, CSS3;
 Minimum 8 years' experience in development of web services and/or other solutions for interoperability of information systems;
 Minimum 3 years' experience with Git and GitHub (or BitBucket)
 Minimum 4 years' experience with Jira and Agile methods;
 Minimum 4 years' experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect;
 Minimum 5 years' experience with Oracle Weblogic server;
 Minimum 10 years' experience with the Linux operating system and shell scripting

Additional requirements:
Available within a three months' time frame.
