We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Application Architect, based in Brussels.

Role Responsibility

The key person will be responsible for:

• Good knowledge of local system administration (LSA) on Windows servers and Linux 
• Solid knowledge of the automation engines: PowerShell for Azure and Ansible (or Puppet / Chef / Saltstack) for AWS (AWS being the most important, broader need although knowledge of Azure is also required)
• Cloud infrastructure (Azure / AWS or OpenShift on Baremetal)

• Architecture, design and configuration of server software and systems components
• Design, installation and configuration of servers in a virtual environment (EC2 instance or Azure VM)
• Monitoring of servers, incident resolution, preliminary diagnosis of software and hardware problems
• Assist the System administrator's team in capacity management, contingency planning, IT service continuity management, automation of repetitive tasks, and implementation of security recommendations.
• Management and monitoring of cloud native storage SAN, NAS, and or S3 type of technologies (Ceph/Amazon EBS or Azure managed Disk).
• Development of scripts to automate system management tasks. (Ansible, Teraform, Cloudformation, Azure Automation State Configuration)
• Maintenance of server procedures manual related to local systems and applications.
• Incident analysis and resolution.
• Liaise with other project teams as necessary to address cross-project interdependencies
• Assistance in testing, deployment, technical documentation and reporting

Successful Candidate

The key person should have:

• Good knowledge of local system administration (LSA) on Windows servers, and Linux
• Solid knowledge of 2 automation engines:

                o PowerShell for Azure
                o Ansible (or Puppet / Chef / Saltstack) for AWS

• A good grasp of the cloud infrastructure (Azure / AWS or OpenShift on Baremetal).
• Experience in scripting (any language)
• Good network and security technology background
• Proven experience with daily operation of systems in a large organisation
• Experience working in agile environments using Scrum (or similar) and via innovative/interactive techniques to engage customers during project
• Ability to cope with the fast changing technologies used in server software and willingness to learn new technologies with fast experimentation cycles
• Capacity of integration in an international/multicultural environment and experience working in a team
• Fluent (written and oral) in English. French is an asset.
