Accounts Receivable Clerk

Role Responsibility

  • Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form Business Plans and Contracts. Updates receivables by totalling unpaid invoices.
  • Maintains records by checking invoices, debits, and credits.
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, Contract Mangers and from customers;
  • Perform verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
  • Perform verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
  • Respond to and resolve clients’ billing issues ad questions
  • Prepare and manage bills, invoices 
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger
  • Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing Monthly Report.
  • Maintaining the billing system
  • Generating invoices and account statements
  • Performing account reconciliations
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records

Successful Candidate

  • Experience in accounting is required for an Accounts Receivable role, but a Bachelor’s degree isn’t a necessity. 
  • Background: Accounting; Business Studies or Administration
  • An ability to prioritise and manage expectations
  • The ability to communicate articulately and efficiently with other people within the company
  • A mathematical background
  • Performing general bookkeeping duties, like invoicing clients, recording cash receipts, making deposits at the bank, reconciling accounts and updating accounting software logs
  • Time management skills, Technical skills, Adaptability, Communication skills, Detail-oriented
