To reinforce our team at one of our prestigious customers in Canary Wharf, London we are currently looking for an AV Support Technician.

Main Responsibilities

Role Summary

The primary function is to set up and provide Audio Visual technical support for all AV meeting rooms and client events. This involves support for presentations, Video and Audio Conferences and voice amplification.

Further functions

  • Promote and adhere to the Company’s ISO policy and procedures
  • AV Helpdesk manning and appropriate response
  • Meeting/ event preparation related admin
  • Event broadcasting and recording assistance as directed by AV Team Leader
  • Video conference bridge operator
  • Audio conference bridge operator
  • Provide regular preventative maintenance and safety checks to AV equipment
  • Carry out troubleshooting and ‘quick fixes’ to AV equipment where possible within time constraints
  • Providing the highest standard quality of work at all times
  • Other responsibilities as requested by your team leader and Audio Visual manager

The position involves a high degree of exposure, working sometimes with executive management and managing directors of the Agency to provide the services listed above.

Service Level Agreements

  • All services should be delivered punctually at scheduled times and in accordance with agreed SLA’s.
  • The technician is expected to arrive at the start of scheduled meeting set-up time and remain until the required service is functioning correctly.

Role responsibilities

These include, but are not limited to:

General AV Meeting room support

  • AV Equipment set-up and support.
  • Presentation/Multimedia Meeting room support, including duration support
  • Assistance with support for Multimedia broadcasting
  • Quick Response to urgent/ ad hoc requests

Video/ Audio Conferencing

  • Video/audio conference set-up and support. Best efforts should be made to ensure all sites are connected on time and receiving/ transmitting good audio/ video.
  • Video conferencing Bridge operator
  • Assist with AV Helpdesk support for AV/VC problems

Faults and Room Checks

  • Carry out regular meeting room checks, ensuring all equipment functions correctly in accordance with the room check procedure
  • Ensure that all faults are reported in the correct way and in a timely manner to ensure AV equipment is always of the highest standard and functioning correctly
  • Work with the AV Team Leader to assist with first line fault repairs and providing work- arounds and quick fixes if necessary

Client relations

  • Advise clients on best practice
  • Provide regular feedback on communication issues and service improvements

Multimedia

  • Set up internal or external broadcast and troubleshoot of any communication received from the customers.
  • Set up recordings of events following the requirements submitted by the organiser of the event.

Working hours

07.00 - 18.30 (shift basis)

Successful Candidate

The Person:

The ideal candidate will be CTS qualified (preferred but not essential) have proven AV and events experience using their hands-on technical skills. A good understanding of the AV signal flow is essential and they must work well as part of a team or independently to rig, operate and de-rig audio visual equipment and solve any technical problems that may arise. The ability to use their own initiative and work under pressure to tight deadlines is an absolute must.

This is a client facing role so alongside technical proficiency and a minimum of
previous live events experience you will need to be well presented with good
communication and customer facing skills.
