Network Operations Engineer

To reinforce our team at one of our prestigious customers in Ispra, North West Italy we are currently looking for Network Operations Engineer

Role Responsibility

This role is to provide operational network support in a cross domain team, where the candidate will be expected to have an authoritative level of expertise in areas identified as Expert and Primary support, whilst they should have basic administrative capabilities to covert an operational support activities within the Secondary area.

The role itself will be made up of operational support activities as well as supporting the implementation and development of new projects.

Successful Candidate

Primary Support/ Requirements:

• Switching/Routing Technologies (Particularly for Cisco), layer 2/3 network design, Dynamic routing protocols. Attested by holding at least a valid CCNA level (CCNP preferred) certification from Cisco (or equivalent).

•  Firewalling Technologies (Particularly for Cisco systems).

• Wifi Technologies (Particularly for Cisco products).

• Network protocol services (NTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP…)

• UTM (Unified Thread Management equipment, in particular for Sophos systems).

• Network Quality of Service techniques and technologies.

• Network Security techniques and technologies.

• SSL VPN Technologies (Particularly for Juniper systems)

Operational Support/ Secondary skills:

• System administration of Linux servers (RedHat Enterprise Linux, CentOS and others).

• Network Access Control systems (NAC).

• Operating and monitoring of infrastructure, systems and servers.

• IDS/IPS Network intrusion detection technologies.

• Firewalling Technologies (Particularly for Cisco systems).

• VPN standards and technologies.

• Reverse proxy Technologies (Particularly for F5 systems)

• Dual Factor authentication systems (token and radius servers).

• Network logging systems (Syslog and SIEM log correlation applications)

Other skills:

• Good communications skills in English and good knowledge of Italian
• Willing to work in a busy team where learning new skills is essential
• Professional and service-oriented attitude (working directly onsite with the client)
• Ability to work in an international/multi domain environment
